CBLions Participate in Clean Up Australia Campaign

As members of the Lions Club of Canterbury Bankstown, we were thrilled to participate in the Clean Up Australia campaign to clean up the areas around Flinders Slopes near Lake Gillawarna in Lansdowne on March 4, 2023.

We were proud to work alongside Lion Simon, who led the project and liaised with the organizers of the Clean Up Australia campaign to ensure that the event ran smoothly. We were also grateful to have the opportunity to assist the local community in cleaning up the area and preserving the environment.

On the day of the event, we arrived early, ready to help with the cleanup. It was a beautiful morning, and we enjoyed the fresh air as we walked along the lake and park. As we collected garbage and debris, we felt a sense of pride in our efforts to protect the environment and make a positive impact on our community.

We were not alone in our efforts, as some of the children of our club members also joined in the campaign. These young volunteers were eager to help out, and they worked hard to clean up the area and sort the rubbish into recyclable and non-recyclable bags.

Our contributions to the Clean Up Australia campaign were gratifying, and we were pleased to see the amount of garbage we collected. We were happy to hand over the bags of garbage to the organizers of the campaign, knowing that they would be disposed of in an environmentally-friendly manner.

As members of the Lions Club of Canterbury Bankstown, we are committed to community service and environmental stewardship. Our participation in the Clean Up Australia campaign is an example of our dedication to preserving the natural beauty of our area and making a positive impact on the lives of those around us.

We are proud to be part of an organization that promotes social responsibility, and we look forward to participating in similar initiatives in the future.
