CBLions Membership on the Rise

The Lions Club of Canterbury Bankstown had a very successful monthly meeting on the first Wednesday of March 2023, held at Bankstown RSL. It was a great evening filled with important announcements, exciting events, and most importantly, the induction of five new members.

Our President, Christine Nassif, presided over the meeting, and we were honored to have distinguished guests, including Past District Governor Jennifer Touzel and Canterbury Bankstown Councilor Chris Cahill. The induction ceremony was a significant highlight of the evening, where PDG Touzel administered the oath and declared the new members official Lions members. Each new member was presented with their official Lions pin and membership certificate.

The new members’ induction ceremony marked a significant moment for our club, as it demonstrated our commitment to expanding our membership and increasing our impact on the community. We are thrilled to welcome Dima, Raja, Nada, Sonja, and Farooqi and look forward to working alongside them to continue our legacy of service and charitable work.

After the induction ceremony, the meeting resumed, and we discussed many upcoming events and activities that the club will participate in. We are excited to participate in the Gillawarna Lake cleanup on March 4 for Clean Up Australia Day, the Lugarno Lions festival in March, and the Barbecue at Bunnings Bankstown Airport in April. We are also looking forward to the Oz Arab Media gala dinner on May 19.

As always, the meeting was an excellent opportunity for us to come together as a community, celebrate our achievements, and plan for future projects. We are proud of the work we have done in the community and are grateful for the support we receive from our members and distinguished guests.

We look forward to our next meeting, which will take place on the first Wednesday of April (April 5th) at 7 PM at Bankstown RSL. During that meeting, we will announce and vote on new club board members for the upcoming financial year.

Overall, the meeting was a great success, and we are excited to continue our work as a Lions Club in Canterbury Bankstown. We are committed to serving our community and making a positive impact on the lives of those around us.
